Mosque architecture was actually adapted from churches, so it is not too strange that they look alike. I think there are various types of churches there. The ones you are talking about may be catholic.

I don't think Czechs are uniform in their religion. The domed temples you are seeing are probably Eastern Orthodox churches.

I'm pretty sure they're mostly Catholics. They actually have a rich tradition of Saints.
