try exercises that concentrate on the muscles of the sides. like stand with arms to sides, weights in hands, bend over to right then to left, repeat, repeat, repeat. also, twist/rotate at waist. if you can feel the "pull" at the sides muscles you're toning them. hope you make it! i guess it depends on how much fat we're talking about. whatever you do needs to be safe. my mom has a waist the size of a pencil and my whole life i saw her twisting with a broom. you know, she's hold the broom parallel to the floor and twist with it and it would tighten her waist. then she's hold it over her head and bend from side to side with it. she's in better shape than anyone i know and without any fancy equipment...just a broom. i bet you don't even have that much fat. you'll be beautiful. don't worry so much. but good luck anyway in the contest.
