I watched oprah today and she had the top 10 superfoods but I managed to miss half of them. i got tomatoes,olive oil,spinach,pomegranates,almonds and salmon

Think of eating foods of all the colors of the rainbow...

Red:
Tomatoes, peppers, cranberries, raspberries, apples, beans, strawberries

Orange:
Carrots, pumpkins, oranges, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, peaches, apricots, mango

Yellow:
Squash, corn, legumes, lemons, banana, eggs, grapefruit, mushrooms, pineapple, sesame seeds, macadamia nuts, cashews, peanuts, quinoa, chickpeas, almonds, pecans, walnuts, brown rice, ginger, beans

Green:
Peppers, cabbage, beans, limes, spinach, kale, honeydew melon, avocado, pears, pesto, celery, zucchini

Purple:
Blueberries, blackberries, currants, beets, red cabbage, eggplant

White:
Potatoes, tofu, onions, garlic, whole oats, cauliflower

Here is another one of those lists:
1) Almonds and Other Nuts
2) Beans and Other Legumes
3) Spinach and Other Green Vegetables
4) Dairy Products
5) Instant Oatmeal
6) Eggs
7) Turkey and Other Lean Meats
8) Peanut Butter
9) Olive Oil
10) Whole-Grain Breads and Cereals
11) Extra-Protein (Whey) Powder
12) Raspberries and Other Berries

Mind you, as a trainer I don't wholly agree with the list.

Many "diets" have their superfood list.

My recommendation is simple

With every meal try to get:
A lean protein plus
A starchy carb plus
A fibrous carb

and
Avoid simple sugars
Minimize saturated fats
Elimininate hydrogenated fats
Minimize processed foods

Try to get a small meal every 3-4 hours. Eat until you are not hungry, and do it again in 3-4 hours.

Oprah, wrong answer!

It's not just the food, it's what you do with it.

If you could learn about good health from TV then the western world woud be healthy. The opposite is true and the evidence is all around you.


After trying for 10 years. I finally lost 150+ lbs (12 stone) and kept it off for over 4 years now. I am now in amazing health, all around, not just thinner.

I did it without medicine, workouts, religion, going hungry or hating my food and without an operation or secret formula. I had tried counting: calories; carbs; fat; etc. I had tried jogging, swimming, weights, aerobics, crazy medicines and starving! But nothing ever worked well or lasted very long.

I also had Hypertension, High Blood Pressure, Chronic Asthma, vision and hearing loss. constant colds and ills, annual flu or pneumonia and more. I was approved for bypass surgery and taking usually between 16 and 20 pills a day.

Is there a food you HAVE to have to be heatlhy....no.
Should you eat a variety.. yes
"Superfoods are great" however eating healthy is more that sticking to a set of do's and dont's,
After all would you stick to the same hairdo all your life?
No, just try to focus on eating a variety of fruits vegetables and whole grain breads and pastas, and eat enough lean proteins

Eat a Sausage every day. And be sure to vary the types for example, Italian one day, Polish the next, and don't forget to try your neighbors.
And don't forget to eat Nuts with that.

i watched that oprah too.. she said that you can never get enough watermelon or green beans, she said you can eat as much as these foods, and never have to live with the regret of it!!

yogurt! palin lofat yogurt. also nuts such as almonds are very healthy.
