What are they meant to include and why won't the Vatican release them to the public??

Are they supposed to have a big impact on Christianity if they were released to the public???

What have people heard or read that the Archives are supposed to have in them or are supposed to include and about what?

Thanks all. :)

Among other things, I read a long time ago that when Easter Island was "discovered" by Europeans, they found written materials that told of the Island's history. I read that these are still in the Vatican Library.
I would not be surprised to hear that the writings of many cultures were stored there.
