Yup... and if he has a problem with it, call that your free preview of what married life would be like regarding you disciplining "his" children. Nuff said?

Stare at the guy you're dating if he's in the room. If he isn't, then diplomatically point out to the child the right thing to do or say and then tell the guy later.
Strongly agree with the suggestion to talk this over and come up with a protocol on how to deal with these precocious children.

Absolutely,it wouldn't matter even if your boyfriend was present,if one of his children is making smart remarks towards you for example,it would be directed towards you,and therefore i feel it would only be appropriate for you to address the issue. It sounds like by your statement that this might have been an issue between you and your boyfriend concerning on speaking to his children, but remember one thing,if he isn't going to step up and address this issue of their remarks, and really prefers you not to either, then it will never work. Those children will only disrespect you or others even more.I personally won't even consider watching a child that i can not make behave or be respective towards me.No one should have to tolerate such behavior in a dating situation with the mates children and he should nip it and let them see it is wrong behavior and show you some respect in doing so.Again my answer is yes you are in the right!Best wishes to you!

Make that a topic for discussion. Ask your significant other why he feels that their language is appropriate in various settings.
Maybe he feels differently about the entire situation.

if the father does not mention it-you should not either. dating the father did not give you the right to "raise the children".
