I just recently started cutting again but the doctor didn't say anything about the few light scars. But in the hospital apprentice program, they probably know about cutting. Do they check? What if you get caught?

Do a lot of Navy people cut? Now at Brown, 17% cut. (it's the endorphin rush).

Get some help. It's a big problem that you're willing to injure yourself for enjoyment, that you value yourself, life, or pain less than the rush. You've seen the recent story of the marines up on charges? I think then you can see the connection that would be made between your psychological condition & being unfit for duty.

They won't "discipline" you, per se. You'll go through the wonderfully complicated mental health program and be put on limited duty, where you'll probably be home every day by noon.

If they figure this makes you unfit for duty, you'll be classified as having a "personality conflict" with the Navy. Otherwise you'll go through the treatment and go back to active duty, probably stationed somewhere else.

The whole process will take no less than 4 months, and maybe up to a year.

depends on your rate and where you are stationed if you are allowed to stay in the navy. if you are treated and continue to cut you could put out under a PD personality disorder and even if you don't continue to cut. If your cutting bad enough you could end up in a lock-up treatment center. Mental Health is the last place you want to be treated for your cutting. get some help before you leave. start your life fresh.

if you have not yet enlisted, cutting is a PDQ with no waivers. If you are already in, you would be screened by a mental health professional and possibly face discharge for being unstable.

YOU WILL GET CAUGHT. period, end of story. don't even try and lie or hide it., becasue if you do, there goes your General or honorable discharge.. you would then get an Other Than Honorable and lose any benefits you would otherwise qualify for.

They might check you for down-syndrome because cutting yourself is retarded.
