Clean energy alternatives, recycling and other programs to improve the environment are all very worth while and have merit.
The problem lies not with local government or even nations. But, all nations. The United Nations should make the environment a primary concern to include a unified global program.
Too often when a global program is attempted, the cry of jobs and economics comes into play.. But, that doesn't excuse or obscure the fact a global program regarding the environment is needed, to work in and include the economics, of every nation. ASAP...

SAVE A TREE...HARVEST A BUCK. Deer hunting that is...
Preserve the environment? Did you know that Africa has 28% of it's land wilderness? Now, how much do you think is in the United States of America? 38% is the correct answer. Your all just brainwashed by AlGore into thinking about all this doom and gloom end of the world BS. Don't believe everything you hear from the news and or former politicians. We're doing just fine (contrary to popular belief)...so relax and enjoy life and stop trying to save the world...

Stop eating beef. Beef farms require deforestation which kills off lots of species and upsets atmospheric balances of oxygen, co2, and moisture. Methane from the cows digestion is a greenhouse gas.
Stop dropping poisons in the ocean, it gives us most of our oxygen.
Do not drop poisons in or around streams or lakes.
Equip smokestacks with chemical scrubbers to make the emissions as harmless as possible. Give companies tax breaks to encourage them.
People need to get smaller, more efficient cars, we need to use less petroleum for both the environment and to try to get the economy healthy again. And so we will be politically free of dependence on the always unstable Middle East.
Most importantly, people need to make the environment their # 1 issue when they decide on who to vote for. The people that get elected make the laws that determine how healthy the environment is. You can have other considerations but if you don't vote for politicians who favor a healthy environment, you will not have a healthy environment. Try to get more informed on the environment so you can educate people, so they understand the connection between environment and their health and their families' health.

Nothing much! The earth goes through cycles just as it always has! There's no verifiable proof that anything we do or have done has had any bearing on the earth's environment! It's all pure rhetoric! And that, by Liberal fanatics whose agenda is to cause mass hysteria and chaos so as to gain control over a fearful population, (an ignorant population)! And through repetition, it seems as though their tactics are beginning to work!
Sad! Sad!
I wish more people were educated so as "not" to be so easily misled by these fraudulent, devious, self-serving power mongers!

here maybe a couple of ideas on that
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness.
education on family planning to counter act overpolulation and condoms available in all schools
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

Clear out deadwood from forrests so new trees can grow and forrest fires dont spread. This also means controlled logging.
Replacing trees logged is always a good plan.
