uh, pretty slim. The point of stitches is to keep the skin closed until the skin heals the wound. Assuming you don't have a compromised immune system, it'll grow back. You'll have a little scar there-- may disappear with time-- where the stitches are currently. It'll take a little while, shouldn't be more than 2 weeks. Don't touch the wound though-- that'll slow down the healing process.

Oh, and I agree with "just being me"...it's hard to discern what you're trying to say with all that "da, ma" mumbo-jumbo...

Don't worry about it. I sliced open that part between the thumb & index finger pretty deep a few months ago & that healed up fine, so you'll be alright. I thought that was never going to join back too.

If you don't take care of it (keep it clean and whatever the doctor's instructions were) not only is there a chance it won't join back, but there is a chance you could lose the finger. Take care of it and you won't have any problems. I know a guy with NO INDEX FINGER.

The edges of the skin tissue may die and peal, but the wound will close and grow together. If you think that there is a problem, talk with the doctor about it when s/he removes the stitches. Good luck

Pretty slim chance it won't heal, 'cause the stitches are holding the deeper tissues together. Like someone else said, just don't go a-pickin' and a-flickin' with it and you should be fine.

skin is made to regenerate. we are constantly poducing cells to replace the ones we are shedding. skin regeneration increases with protein intake. your skin should start to close in as early as 2-3 days depending on the size of the cut. if it is really deep it will heal inside out.

it will join back that is why they put stitches in deep cuts to pull the skin back together and heal

not much. I had 23 staples putting my "flap" scalp back together. It worked - can't even tell to look at me. Just follow your doc's advise and keep it clean!
