Last night I had a dream, where Christ was standing outside a courthouse yelling this, while Adam and Steve were walking down the steps, hand in hand. Your opinion?

Although... The premise feels right because Jesus set a standard...the standard is ..to never condemn....Since that He said..He who is without sin cast the first stone...In which I always ask..a Question...Was there anyone there..who was without sin???...and the answer should be...YES..Jesus was there He was without sin ..so although he set the standard ..he had the right to cast the stone at her..

The meaning of this is that we are never to condemn anybody...we can tell one..that they need a relationship with Christ but that is not condemning...

To say to one He IS going to hell..is condemning...

The matter of the one he told ..the woman...He also told her to GO AND SIN NO MORE..so to say..that ...

Adam and steve...is not a legal question..because that is against the will of God...and cannot be applied to the principle.......If Adam and steve don't stop sinning by indulging in homosexuality..they will be Judged by God...and found wanting...

The woman was an adulteress..and she has/had the ability to know her lifestyle was/is wrong and she can stop....so Jesus said Go and sin no more...
but Adam and Steve..are living in sin and as long as they live together they can't stop sinning..

The bible is clear as far as homosexuality is concerned..and there is no exception...

Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Being worthy of death is NOT ..a christian given permission to kill such a one..but....

It means his lifestyle makes him worthy of seperation from God..remeber God told Adam in the beginning..the day that you eat of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil thou shalt surely die..Adam spiritually died ..and didn't even know it..

The life such a one lives in sin..willing and un repentant...faces seperation from God..eternally..

God bless

I don't really understand that scripture very well, but also know that many people also misunderstand it and don't realize so. The point to be made is not that we are all sinners and thus should not cast the proverbial stone. Remember Joshua (Jesus) was dealing with Jews and their priests and leaders who made the decisions to stone people and do it. There were certain requirements for them to do this - that they had to be in a state of purification as I recall. Thus the point I think is more so that they were attempting to do this illegally - as they did with several things. Joshua many times is recorded in the gospels as criticizing the leadership for things they did wrong. I read this one time and was convinced it was the correct interpretation - yet unfortunately can't recall all of it :(

Though that was an interesting tidbit, seems rather irrelevant regarding your dream (if it is one and not just a post to get opinions). What is relevant I think is that many of the same people (Christians) incorrectly interpreting this scripture out of its social and legal context of 1st century Judaism are also the same ones so vehemently criticizing gays as sinners. They do many things wrong also without realizing it. So what if a guy holds hands with another guy? It should not be assumed Joshua would approve of gay marriage though - don't think he would - only that people should not react inappropriately or violently toward them.

apparently its a pun i guess. get it? okay adam and steve, two gay lovers that were just married. So anyway Jesus is like throw a stone if you didn't sin. No one can throw a stone but Jesus Christ cuz everyone involved in that wedding has sinned apparently for allowing something so terrible to happen. Get it now?

For one thing, I seriously doubt that you were asleep when you "dreamed" this little mockery up.
The other thing is, just because Jesus doesn't want us to judge, doesn't mean that He wants us to accept sin. We should love the sinner, not the sin. He wants all to be forgiven, so should we. To those He FORGAVE, (sin needs forgiving, doing what's right doesn't,) He also said, NOW, go and SIN No more.
And just because WE have no right to judge people, because we have all sinned, doesn't mean that God isn't going to judge us all someday. Hope you are on His side then.
1 Corinthains 6: 9 - about 11 - definitely says that homosexuality and other sexual sins are wrong, and need to be forgiven and turned from for one to make it to heaven.

I think you are mis-using the scripture to reference the "sin" of homosexual like behavior.
The meaning behind the verse is that we are all sinners, read Matthew 7, and learn from it, study it. Jesus sat and ate supper sinners, because he loved them all. I understand your point that the court has already made a mockery of this issue, but keep in mind that not all people in the U.S. are Christians. Your dream would be invalid to those, simply because Jesus isn't real to them. For me, I tend to believe in him as a wise person to follow, but I don't equate him with my spirituality. Instead I see him as a figure in a book who had good ideas regarding the nature of man. The most important rule is what your verse implies, and is stated directly as "Judge not, lest ye be judged.." which actually came from the Greek "Judge not unless you are judged already by God."

Jesus doesn't need your rewrites.

The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination in God's opinion. The word abomination means "to spew forth out of your mouth." When something is so vile to God that He would puke you out THEN there is no question of whether He approves or not.

Your out of context reference and partial quote misses the point. He was not telling people that Sin is ok.

Here is the Context--Book of John, Chapter 8, verses 1-11.

1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

11"No one, sir," she said.
"Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."

He also told the sinner that they were forgiven, to go and sin no more, So I guess Adam and Steve have to stop sinning now, since they were forgiven also.

Don't forget the rest of the passage when you use the works of jesus.

Did you also dream of Christ telling Adam and Steve to "go and sin no more"?

Interesting dream. It also presupposes that Jesus would identify homosexuality as a sin...In my dream Jesus is giving a toast at the wedding banquet, and turning the water into wine!

My opinion is this: Remember, Jesus said this to the lady who had been sinning and also told her to not sin anymore. Maybe God is telling you homosexuality is a sin and while no one can or should judge you, it does not mean this has to continue. And his next comment to the lady was, "Go and sin no more."
