I just recently had a spiral perm and it didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I wanted bigger curls and not the crimped look. The salon I had my hair done at suggested I get another perm over the current one but with bigger rods. Will this be considered overprocessing? I also considered getting it straightened. That too I hard is not good for my hair. I need to get something done because my hair is so frizzy and I'm not happy at all with it.

If you get another perm or permanently straighten your hair after you've already had a perm that went frizzy, you are seriously risking major damage to your hair. The only reason the salon told you to come back in & get the spiral done again w/larger rods is so they can get more money from you.
Right now, if your hair looks significantly lighter on the ends, then it is fried. The only thing to fix it is to trim off as much as you can stand & to use a once a week deep protein conditioner, like Nexxus Keraphix.
I've been doing hair for over 10 years, so I'm not here to argue, I know what I'm talking about & even tho it sucks, it's true. Your hair is done & you can only cut off as much as you can stand & grow out the rest.

Go back to your stylist and tell her and show her the problem. See what she suggests. Then get a second opinion.
It just depends on how damaged it is. I have seen people get a perm the next week, if it did not take well.

If it's already frizzy you should just condition it with deep conditioner and leave it for awhile as it will relax down with washings and conditionings. You may get the look you want eventually without over processing it with yet another perm.

You could really damage your hair with 2 treatments like that back to back. Your hair will become brittle and break. Try leave in conditioner, or putting a small amount of conditoner in your palm and mix with a little water comb through hair and leave in. There is also a great hair care product called "Berts Bees" Avacado hair treatment, you can condition your hair or leave in to help with the frizz.......

I've been there before...;-)

YOU ONLY SHOULD PUT A PERM ON NEW GROWTH ONLY. NOT THE ENTIRE HEAD. IT HAS TO BE OVER SIX MONTHS TO PUT PERM OVER THE ENTIRE HEAD. NO JUST WASH YOUR HAIR AND PLACE BIGGER RODS IN. CAN YOU ROLL YOUR HAIR YOURSELF? DO YOU HAVE A FRIEND THAT CAN DO IT? YOUR HAIR WILL BE OVER PROCESS. BUT YOU SIAD RODS SO YOUR NOT A WOMEN OF COLOR SO IT COULD BE OK. BUT I WOULD NOT DO IT.

It's not suggested that you reperm your hair for 6 weeks, preferably 3 months, and 3 months if you dye your hair espically bleaching!

Give it a few days to relax and loosen up, then if you want to make do with it try hot rollers and when you blow dry your hair-use a diffuser. BUT MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT GET ANY, I REPEAT ANY, CHEMICAL TREATMENTS DONE TO YOUR HAIR. That is unless you like looking like Raggedy Ann.
