I would not say the language - more like the perception.

In the US, I found out that 'stupid' and 'fart' are offensive ( you say 'silly' or 'toot' !!!) However in England, I found out that these two words are used commonly, and even among kids.

Language (any an every) is beautiful - especially if you follow how it has developed over the years. (A good read would be Steven Pinker's 'The Language Instinct'). We people give it an ugly face by using it in some context that is not acceptable.

Eg - the word '*****' means black in Spanish. But we corrupted it and have put an ugly face to it. Or the 'n...' word meant God in Egyptian language - [N-g-r (Egyptian;pronounced en-jer) = God ]

I would have to say that the most ugliest and offensive word in the English language to me is someone calling someone else a retard. That really bugs me because no one is a retard. They just learn different than the rest of us. That makes me really mad to hear someone call someone else a retard, or anything of that nature.

Oh, and I also agree with Blackscythe16. ^^^^ I hate hearing the word "Ghetto." Most people who use the word has absolutely no idea what it actaully means. That burns me up too!!

And for some people who think that we are "too sensitive" for being on the Internet just because we hate certain words of the English Language, I must ask them this: Haven't you ever talked to someone who always uses a word that you ABSOLUTELY hate? They might say it all the time, and it really annoys you? Well, that's the way that it is for us. We are NOT " too sensitive for the Internet." In fact, most of us are too " hard" for the Internet. That's why you always have dumb and ignorant people who answers questions when they dont have a clue what they are talking about. Or either they're rude and stupid, and so they give stupid answers. Maybe the ones who say we are " too sensitive for the Internet" are really talking about themselves, but they just want to find a way to convey their message through other people. Or either by giving opinions that no one really cares about. But then again, I guess there's no accounting for taste.

English has some nasty words, but have you ever tried French? That whole language is nasty!

That said, I think the ugliest word to say is GD or to take Christ's name in vain. I really hate it when people say Jesus Fn Christ. That is pretty offensive. However, I also get sick of people who get offended by everything. It seems like a lot of people are just walking around looking to be offended. That is offensive to me.

Well... Actually, none of them. Words are like tools. Each one has a specific purpose and use. Its not the word itself that has the power to hurt or disgust, but the way in which the word is used.

A lot of people forget that words are just words. Being mean and hateful and using words in a mean and hateful way, just proves the persons ignorance and inability to express themselves in a meaningful way.

Nothing. They're just words. If they manage to get under your skin, you're too sensitive to be living in the real world (or being on the Internet).

I can't answer that with certainty, for everyone is different. I can attest that I've probably heard a pretty high number spoken in the name of religion.

For me it is the n-word. That word has such a history of hate, oppression, and dehumanization, I can't remove it from that context.
