I'm not gonna tell you to quit drinking, cuz thats not my decision... I'm not gonna tell you to go read the bible or talk to God or whatever... But what I am gonna tell you is from personal experinece...
It works great at first, you get a buzz in the morning, keep it all day, come nighttime you can get drunk cuz you dont have to worry bout work or school, get drunk, wake up the next morning drink to cure the hangover and start the whole routine over again...
So clearly, you havent hit an all time low yet, but trust me, you will... you wont make it to school or work on time anymore cuz the hangovers will just be too much, your social life will go to hell, no one will want to be around you... your friends will all get mad at you, then one day you'll look in your bank account and realize every last cent is in the bottom of that bottle... you'll be depressed, you'll constantly get sick, you wont feel well ever...
things just get worse and worse... and when you finally realize you have to quit, you'll be lucky if you can... if you're lucky you'll get out soon enough... before something really bad happens... could you imagine getting in a car accident one day cuz you were drunk, and realizing you killed a mother? or you killed a 2 yr old? you'd feel horrible! could you afford to lose your job? or get expelled from school? can you stand to lose all your friends? do you want to always be on edge? could you handle being raped (if your a girl)? if your a parent, what would you do if your children got taken away from you? those are all very real possiblilities...
and if you dont stop soon, once you get to a certain point, theres almost no chance of not relapsing... which means you'll have more struggles to go through... so wouldnt it be better to quit while your ahead? your gambling with your life and everything good you have going for you, you might not see the good, but its there...

It's probably not very healthy. I think it's actually alcoholism, because you're dependent on alcohol to get through the day. I know life can be tough, but drinking isn't going to make anything better- it will eventually make everything worse. You should probably stop, and et help if you need it. Instead of drinking, you could try to talk with someone (ya now, to vent) or blog or write. some kind of other activity might help a lot.

I started drinking at 10 years old to take away the pain. I have been clean and sober for a year and a half. Alcohol is not the answer. I learned it the hard way. Depression hurts but alcohol hurts worse. So to answer your question....no I dont think it is a good idea.

NO!!!!
Alcohol IS a depressant, so, if you drink, you will be even more depressed the next day. To say nothing of the detrimental health effects, the possibility of doing something you wouldn't normally do, and the v ery real possibility of hurting someone else.
Try exercise, getting involved in something outside of yourself (Habitat for Humanity maybe), writing, reading, healthier food, etc. If all else fails, go to a shrink and see if he/she will prescribe antidepressants. (But if you DO take them, b e sure NOT to drink or you will negate any good that they do.)

No, actually its the worst idea because you can never escape reality. If you have problems deal with them cause its not as hard as they seem. And why would you want alcohol to get through the day when you can do it all by yourself.
There are people out there who face hell everyday, but get through problems without alcohol. Try it and you will find out that you don't need anything other than your mind and your soul to get through anything.

You have the basic instincts of an alcoholic. That's how it starts: Just a little something to get you through. Then it escalates. Be careful. You are on the verge of a bad addiction.

I drove someone's car when in a blackout. People told me I was going 85 mph on a 25 mph residential street, and might have gotten arrested, killed, or have killed someone else.
Chuckles has cut his drinking down a lot now. If you just drink to chill, you could get some prescription drugs for that - my sister did - and they help her a lot.

Thats to bad your days are so depressing. Why dont you try planting flowers or making a music CD for yourself go ride a bike, workout, etc........
Drinking should be a last resort, its not a bad idea as long as it doesnt become a habit
