I have to relocate from LA to NY and take my 2 cats. Both are 1 year and 10 months old, 1 is 12 lbs and another is 8. I checked all airlines with the directly service from LA to NY but all say I need 1 more person to take them to the cabin with me. So, I asked my friend to come with me but 1 more problem. They require the smallest kennel and the pet must be able to stand up in that small (about 9'' H) kennel. Unless that they can't accept. I asked about the check-in pet, they say in this season, they don't accept from the beginning or if the temperature is higher than 85F, they don't. I would like to ask you if there's anybody who knows :
1. they check the kennel and the pet inside at the check in and refuse to take them in the cabin?
2. any other better\best way to transport them to NY?
3. a really nice pet transportation professional company?

I'm really in trouble now...Please someone help me and my cats...

I appreciate you all...

I drove cross country to relocate with 2 cats from Michigan to San Diego and then back again when we moved back. We had a great trip with both cats in large kennel in the backseat. You will be a lot happier if you forgo the air travel and drive them. Take your friend and make it an adventure. If you can't maybe you can have your friend be a foster parent until cooler weather arrives and then have them shipped in cargo. Mine took a cargo flight from Japan to Chicago and did fine. I have a 17 pound male and an 8 pound female. Best of luck.

Why not plan a scenic trip for you and your cats? Drive there yourself, and have a vacation at the same time! Just make sure not to rush yourself too much. That's when it gets stressful. Get a couple of large dog kennels. That way the cats can be confined, but have all the necessities with them! Best of luck!

Someone else asked this question recently and others knew of services that do the transporting for you. Hopefully they will see this or you can try to retrieve the question or go to yahoo search.
