What should the average cost of groceries be for a typical family of 3 in New Jersey ?

I'm part of a family of 4 in NJ and I'd say we average about $100-150/week. One of us is only 4 months old and still nursing, so he's not part of the food cost, but he wears diapers so he is part of the overall cost.

That all would depend on what all you bought, and if you bought in bulk. Down in the south we have Sams and other places like that to buy in bulk. Then you have the local grocer that runs specials. One of ours here has buy one get one all of the time or items like 10 for 10. Things like that will help save money. On average I spend about 200-300 per month for a family of four, and we eat well if I don't say so my self.

I would say it should probably be around 150 to 200 a week. It all depends how old are the people and where do you shop which stores. Some stores are more expensive than others.

there is 3 in my family we spend about 150 to 170 every two weeks the higher when i throw in cleaning products we are a military family so we might be getting things a little bit cheaper at the commissary

more than you can acutal figure. it is always more. i will spend about 400 for two weeks but you always go back for milk or something 3 days later and spend another 75 to 100

Depends on whether the family is on a budget or how much you have to spend, and if your wife is thrifty or a spend thrift or if she actully knows how to cook. Too many variances to answer a question like this.
