my children will be giving a gift to their dad, but are wives supposed to give gifts to their husbands on Father's Day?

As a matter of fact, children are the ones to give gifts to parents on Mother's and Father's Day. Spouses don't give each other gifts on these days unless they want to. If it's Mother's Day it's mother's day not Wife's day and Father's Day is not Husband's Day. Spouses should give each other gifts on wedding anniversaries, then again it is all up to individuals' preference....to each it's own.

I think that if you want to get a gift for the father of your children would be a nice thing to do. Even if you don't I am sure he knows how much you appreciate and know how good of a father he is to your children.

I guess getting him a gift would show your appreciation for what he does as a Dad... :)

Sure they are suppose to give their husbands a fathers day present. Everybody likes to feel special and this is a great opportunity to make him feel happy he is with you.

Only and I repeat only if you want to! Etiquette or not I believe giving a gift without sincerity is bad

you don't have to. my mum always does it for my father on Father's Day, and my father always gets my mum something for Mother's Day. nothing big though, it's supposed to be just the children. you can if you want.

The best and easiest gift to receive and to give is a Gift Card/Certificate to a favorite store to be used after holidays when things are half price.

Especially for adults that are hard to buy for:
Make some Good For tickets and put them in a stocking or card. Things that say:
Good for one free back/neck/foot massage.
Good for detailing your car (wash, wax, shampoo carpets and seats)
Good for dusting and vacuuming the whole house
Good for cleaning the garage, attic and/or basement (whichever you have)
Good for babysitting while you shop or have a peaceful bubble bath
Good for making dinner every nite for a week, doing dishes and clean-up
Good for cleaning out the fireplace and chimney
Take down curtains and drapes, clean them and re-hang.
Clean upholstered furniture Wash windows
Shampoo carpets Decorate the tree
Remove tree, decorations and store it all in garage

I bet you can think of a lot more; you know them better than we do. Trust me, they'll be thrilled!!!
