Channels like HBO/Starz/Encore and also other normal channels that are over 99 on cable/digital cable/satellite. For example 102, 520, etc.

Am I clear or am I just rambling on?

@J

I have a Trutech. Does the brand really matter?

Brand does not matter at all.

What you have to do is set your DVD Recorder to record from one of the Audio/Video connections and then hook up the RED/WHITE/YELLOW RCA cords from the cable box out to the DVD Recorder inputs.

That's the only way to do it. Of course the cable box will have to be on that channel. Basically, the DVD Recorder will just record whatever is playing on the cable box.

Even if you want to do a timed recording, your DVD Recorder should have an option when you are setting that timer event to pic the source (tuner, A/V1, A/V2, etc). You gotta select the correct A/V ports and then leave your cable box on that channel.
