1911 is really too large to conceal, Glock makes several good models to conceal.

the saftey issue is a real discussed matter, but for a gun needed to pull and shoot in an emergancy, do you want to have to think is the safety on or off, the glock the only safety is you don't pull the trigger ( and a person is not suppose to hold a gun with their finger on the trigger unless they are firing it)

I have owned and carried both on and off duty both weapons, and I much perfer the glock for both

I carry a 1911 and it's not a problem. Just make sure you have a good holster AND a good belt.

Because the 1911 is thinner than a Glock, I actually find it easier to conceal. It's not necessarily the length of the barrel that makes a gun hard to conceal; it's the thickness of the grip. The single-stack 1911 has a much thinner grip than a widebody Glock, and it is still thinner than a single-stack Glock like the G36.

There's pros & cons, but I hate'em both & the price dif is so big I'm suprised you're comparing. The 1911 has been around so long, and there are so many dif parts, you can build one form scratch and customize the hell out of it for realatively cheap. They both balance for crap though & the frames feel terrible making that first instinct shot or long day of shooting very uncomfortable. Go try a Sig. The balance, accuracy, & feel are so sweet you'll never shoot anything else. Spend the extra for the trit sights too. Also kind of suprised you want to carry something that heavy all the time. A lot of people don't like 9mm, & 40s&w is espensive to shoot much, but you'd like the weight for an everyday gun.

The ninety two is merely too vast. it is merely a 9mm after all. additionally, the Glock is mythical for sturdiness. and ultimately, the G19 is a favourite classic, seen by technique of a few because of the fact the suitable carry gun. yet differently of observing it relatively is that the ninety two is 1970's technologies, i.e. the vast wondernine. The Glock is 1990's tech and nevertheless undying. They tried recuperating it with the XD by technique of including gadgets, however the simplicity of the Glock and it is short relax set off remains the precise of the classification.
