Why doesn't some organisation set up a 10-step program for them, or something?

According to the Bible, a follower of Christ does not sin and cannot sin:

1 John 5:18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him.

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Romans 8:8 Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

So, if you're sinning, you are not born of God and you cannot please God. A Christian should never, ever sin. I mean, don't they have the Sacred Spook guiding them and telling them what to do? I guess they just don't pay attention, or the Spook is sleeping on the job--or they aren't really born of God.

We are all sinners, even Christians. We will always be sinners. Once you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, then you are forgiven as a sinner. Then your love for Christ makes you strive to do all it takes to not sin. You still will sin, because we do dwell in the flesh. More and more though, you will get better and learn from your sins for the next temptation that is set in front of you.

Well, think about it this way ... If a person whole heartedly believes that sin exists and that they are born with a sinful nature that they can't escape, how can they NOT sin? I mean that idea, that they can live without sinning, has already been nullified by their belief in their own sinfulness. BUT, what if ... Sin is just a human concept, and not a reality? What if its just a cool excuse for ego to go on operating the way IT wants to, without having the burden of taking personal responsibility for the individuals own actions and the outcome of those actions? Now, what happens when the same person rejects the whole notion of sin and the sin nature and instead begins to take responsibility for themselves? And as a result make better CHOICES? Wouldn't they make fewer mistakes? Wouldn't they be more apt to learn from the mistakes they DO make? And so, wouldn't they tend to progress more as individuals? Hey, you know, its just possible that there is no such thing as sin. Its just possible that there is such a thing as making poor choices and then perceiving them in such a way as to escape responsibility. "It was my own sinful nature that caused me to fill-in-the-blank." Hmmm. Maybe giving up sinning is just as simple as figuring out there is no such thing. ;-) ~ Peace & Blessings ~

The Apopstle Paul had problems with this but answered this question. He said (Paraphrase) "The good that I want to do I don't do but the sin I don't want to do those things I do...who shall deliver me from this problem...God HAS!".

We are born again and are no longer sinners but saints. Wher we were born again our sin nature died and our saint nature was born. We have to recon ourselves as dead and live as new creations.

We, as Christians, have God's promise to not allow us to be tempted above what we able to resist and will with every temptation provide a way of escape.

WE (I include myself here) need to look for that way of escape and use it, not sin because it is the easiest alternative.

One other verse "If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one wwith the other and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin".

"Beholding we are changed from glory to glory...becomming more and more lile Jesus" (paraphrase) Sorry, it wasn't one verse it was two!

We may have have been "evil scumbags" that is why Jesus died so we could be born as saints. NO LONGER SINNERS!!!

Becuase the Bible says in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." and in Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." We can never be perfect.

mainly because we all have a sinful nature. theres something in all of us that, when someone tells us not to do something, we just say, "but i really want to" fortunately, we dont need a ten-step program, because Christ died for us and our sins are forgiven.

"for he was crushed for our inequeties, he was pierced for our transgressions. the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed."

No one can stop sinning completely. That's why we need to accept Jesus' atoning sacrifice, so we can stand before the Father spotless and blameless.

well it's because sin will always exist as long as people think that defining something as 'supernatural' is actually a valid logical solution. but it's not, but no one cares, so it'll always exist. can i get me an amen my (insert supernatural anything here, aka sinful) sistas and brothas!

the reason is we are all flesh and blood no one is perfect!!!! That is why Jesus came to die for our sins so that we can be made perfect in Christ.

Because we're all evil scumbags, none of us are capable of being perfect and that's why we need a savior.

It's impossible not to sin.

Because we dwell in flesh bodies.

Do your best and don't get on a guilt trip.

Christ is able.
