Whenever my kitten sees me eating she climbs on my shoulder and wants to eat whatever I'm eating. I let her taste my chicken noodle soup today and she loved it. Tonight she wanted some spaghetti. I don't mind giving her some food, I just don't want to harm her or start unhealthy habits.

It all comes back to the "Mom" thing. You're Mom to the kitten and she wants to eat what you're eating. Very natural. Table food will not hurt her in small amounts but she should eat her dry and wet food. Use a high quality cat food for Baby. I recommend Felidae over Iams or Science Diet as it's all top quality human grade ingredients. (You could eat it if you reaaallly wanted to) www.felidae.com to find out where they sell it near you. I've had cats for a very long time. My first cat (on my own) was an Empress and let me know about it. If we had ice cream she had hers too...in a bowl and in the same room we were in or she'd meow and complain until the mistake was rectified. Enjoy your kitten.

Make sure not to give her anything with too much sodium, spice, sugar or chocolate. Otherwise, just keep it to a minimum, like a *good* parent would give a child candy. Just a bit here and there. I'm a bad mom, I let my cat drink the dregs of my cereal every morning and she loves it, but alot of cats are lactose intolerant, so I don't recommend that either. I just got lucky with mine.

Will it kill her. Probably no.

Keep her away from any food that has onions or garlic. It is not good for cats.

My cats love melon. And I have one that wants the milk from my husbands cereal. But milk is not good, it usually gives them the runs.

Small amounts of unseasoned meat are ok but don't make it a regular habit.

Tooth treats are really much better for them.

I had a cat that I fed table food almost every day. He lived to be almost 30 years old.

table food is not good for animals. they can not digest like humans. a nibble every once in a while won't hurt but i would not make a habit of it.

I suppose it would be ok, but I don't recommend doing it often. Once in a long while won't hurt, unless your cat is allergic.
