The same people who criticize people for being promiscous, are trying to create a law that stops people from trying to get married. Does this make any sense? Just because people get married doesn't mean for sure that they will only sleep with the person they marry, but I think it seems more likly that they won't sleep with as many people.
anyone see my point here?

I don't understand why they feel the need to pressure the government to recognize their marriage. Are they doing it for the tax benefits? Or to make waves? I also don't understand what the government is doing getting involved in a religious institution. It's none of their business. Why are there tax laws benefitting married people in the first place? Maybe it's to help promote the building of families. I think it would be a better idea to make an amendment to the constitution stating that no branch of the government shall cede benefits to anyone based on marital status. And that the government shall in no way make laws concerning marriage. It would be separation of church and state. They shouldn't have their noses in it at all.

The problem is the quality of person that is promiscuous. Even that wouldn't be such a problem except for our welfare system. The same people who are promiscous also tend to propogate a huge supply of violent, depraved criminals. This would not be possible without welfare. The attempt to promote marriage just keeps us from addressing the obvious. Low quality problem people can't survive without direct handouts from the normal people in society and it is way outside our best interests to do this.

Are you talking about homosexuals? I'm not sure that any laws can be enacted against promiscuity. What will they do...interview the people you've slept with....wouldn't work.

If you are talking about homosexuals, I so do not agree with the law trying to ban the marriages. If you are able to find love in this life, it should not matter if they are of the same sex.

But if you do get married, you promise to be with the person until death do us part. That is supposed to include you genitalia.

Are you saying that because the conservative camp is against gay marriage and also against promisuity that it's wrong?

You assume that people are unable to control their sexual urges ... no, gay folks should not be allowed marriage, they should not practice their sexuality at all if it's such a problem for them (better to pluck out thine own eye than burn thine whole body in hell) ... and the same is true for the promiscuous ... they need to practice self control.
