A book called The Power of a Praying Woman by: Stormie Omartian helped me. It's good for helping you if you don't really know how to pray. Good Luck : )

Read the word of God (Bible) and know him. This will form a realtionship with him. Talk to God (Prayer). God loves you. He has shown this by sending His Son to die for you, and by calling you to find out about Him. If you ever doubt His presence, or are worried or afraid, pray to Him and trust in His love. Attend a Church Bible Study. It's really interesting learning about God, Jesus etc.. Attend a study where they translate the readings for you. One other step is to be Christ Like. Having all the patience, forgiveness, and understanding of the lord is very powerful. Of couse we can only strive to be like Christ but, we'll never be him.

Pray and read the Bible often. That's as simple as it gets. Those things help you communicate with God. You can't get to know someone closely unless you communicate, right? And be completely honest with Him- tell Him about your struggles or if youre having doubts or anything. Rely on faith, not your feelings, because your feelings about God and yourself and everything will fluctuate. God is your only constant. Even when you feel far away , keep your faith and He WILL bring you back! I've been there more than once. Feel free to email me if you want to talk more or want help finding helpful Scripture references. I'm praying for you right now! :)

Last year I started reading 5 Psalms a day. On the 1st I read 1 thru 5, the 2nd 6 thru 10 and so on. There are 150 Psalms, that means each month you will start over. Everytime I go through there is always something new, something I didn't see last month or something that didn't apply to today last month but does now. It has really brought me closer because you don't just read them, you pray them too. Ask Him to open your heart and your eyes. ahe wants to be closer to you too, so He will help you. God bless.......much love grandma Susie

Make a commitment to read Gods Word daily. Whether it be a couple of verses or a chapter. But keep in mind, with knowledge comes responsibility. The more you read and pray, the closer you will become.

Yes, prayer. Reading. Singing to Him. Looking for Him in your life, your experiences, your "luck"(when He came to your aid).
Share Him openly with gladness of what He did for you, how He answered your prayers, or why you're glad He didnt answer one.
Get rid of bad habits, and pray about other things about yourself that you know arent pleasing to him. Pray for others, pray for situations of yours or others'.
Donate time or donate money to groups you have a belief in.
Give cool looking Bibles to children if you know they dont have one.
Begin to ask God about decisions you might be making.
Listen to Christian radio if you like.
Most of all, love His son with all your heart. Believe in Jesus as the Christ, begin to step back and let Jesus work in your life. Believe that Jesus did everything he did, just for you. You'll appreciate Jesus much more. And if you havent already, come to Jesus with genuine understandings of your past wrongs that were sins( you dont have to remember a lifetime roster), ask him to forgive you, to guide you, to help you. And thank him for his sacrifices on your behalf.
Remember whether or not someone around you knows you are a Christian, show goodness and kindness, patience (Galatians 5:22). If you like, help a needy neighbor, mowing, picking up an item from the store. Visit someone you know is lonely or housebound(James 1:27), a neighbor, friend or relative. Be open to offering help.
If you have a chance to help the homeless, offer help in a kitchen, offer food and clothing to churches that have a food pantry for the needy, including clothing, or volunteer a few hours there.
Plant and garden-it will bring you to amazement of creation (even simple annual flowers).
Fast, if you like-a meal-coffee for a week-anything and for the time God leads you-and pray often during this time.
Each of these things alone can help you get closer to God. He's everywhere, in people, in nature, everywhere. God has also blessed you with a gift- talent. If you know what it is, it is showing Him love and thankfulness to develop it and use it. Be thankful and take care of your health.
And if you ask Him as I once did, to help me see the positive, I realized after a time, that when I passed a same house all the time, I didnt see the wrecked car on the grass and the falling down fence. I saw the pretty paint of the house, the curtains blowing in the breeze, the rocker on the porch and the plants in the pots. The rusting car and cruddy looking fence were still there, the abandoned junk on the messy gravel drive were still there.
But He let me see the positive, not just there or only that. And realizing that about the house, I realized He heard me, and answered me, and I felt awed and He awesome!
Everything you do, do for the glory of God. Consider Him in all you do. A closer relationship with God can come out of doing, and doing all with Him in mind. These suggestions are ways, not a "to do" list. Possibilities-not demands. The love you have inside you will grow; God being love.
You started here with your question and I do believe God has noticed YOU. Consider yourself blessed.

The question is more in what way are you comfortable approaching God and faith? Belief? Logic? If you're new to Christianity there's a great book called "Growing in Faith: A Guide for the Reluctant Christian." An internet search will probably lead you straight to it sweety. Actually, it's on Amazon.com the author's name is David Yount.

If you are not, you need to become born again christian. You need to confess through prayer to Jesus that you are an admitted sinner, you want Christ in your heart to be your savior. Then read your bible daily, pray for others, stay close to the lord , lead your life in a way that would please god, go to a bible preaching/ believing church. you will know when you have found the right church, god will let you know in your heart. my prayers are with you.
