I live in an area where they are, plus I am going to Alaska where there are tons of huge ones. They make me itch like crazy!

Thanks for all the ideas! I'm packing non-blue, light-colored clothes, Off, and Vit. B 100 mg. Dryer sheets didn't work for me before in Alaska. A hat with mosquito netting helps, but not when you're lying down. (47 bites thru veil during night, on one side of my face).

Bug spray works. Bear fat too.

Wear long loose fitting clothes that cover up most of your body. Mosquitos love the colour blue. Stay away from blue.

The best stuff i have found and i can use it on my kids is Bug Guard from Avon. They have several different types like lotion, spray and it has a good smell and vitamin E along with sunblock. It's the best think i have ever bought. Get you some of that, it's guarenteed!!!

Natrapel can be found at Walgreens. It works so much better than "Deepwoods OFF". I've used it for the past four years. It is so cool to watch mosquitoes land on you and then suddenly take off. They do not like the stuff at all and it's all natural (no DEET).

Rub vinegar ( white or apple cider ) on your skin . It repels them without toxic chemicals .If there are a lot of them , I would soak a scarf in it as well and tie it on my neck or wrist or both . It may not smell like L'Air du Temps " , but it's better than getting West Nile Virus !

We camp all the time and we rub a dryer sheet on our arms and legs. We also leave one in our front and back pocket. It seems to work well for us.

Avon "skin so soft"; the original formula. It's great and not full of awful chemicals! I've used it since I was a kid and I'm allergic to mosquitoes!

personal insecticide will help and clothing that covers your arms and legs to should help. It isnt just a matter of them itching, its a matter of the diseases they carry like malaria, ross river fever etc. If they do bite you, rubbing alcohol helps stop the itch.
