In general, Pell-eligible students are not prohibited from using their Pell Grant to take online courses (even it that's all you take).

However, not all *schools* are eligible to offer Pell to their students. So, in some cases, even if a student is Pell-eligible, they may not be able to receive their Pell Grant because the school is ineligible.

The easiest way to find out if you can use your Pell for a specific online course is to ask. At the very least, check on the website of the school in which you're interested. Usually, if a school offers Financial Aid, they are forthcoming with this information (as it attracts more applicants). Another clue as to whether your school is eligible to administer FSA: Does it have a "school code" for use when you file the FAFSA (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/fotw0607/fslookup.htm )? Is your school accredited? If so, by whom? You can search Wikipedia's lists of accredited institutions and/or their list of unacccredited institutions to see how your school is classified: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accreditation

Yes. I use them for online classes. I go to National University and they have most classes online and my grants cover the classes
