Does it make ANY SENSE to punish all of humanity for the sins of two experimental humans!! The story is so ludicrous; and isn't Genesis a perfect example of CONDITIONAL LOVE anyway?? Why would a BENEVOLENT creator ask two imperfect people to act for EVERY SINGLE HUMAN WHO WOULD EVER EXIST??! And then he supposedly sends another man who is PARTIALLY GOD to suffer and die??! Don't try to tell me ANY OF THAT makes sense in ANY WAY!!! He's condemning the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE to suffer an earthly death because HE LOVES US???!! That's the most sadistic thing I have EVER HEARD, and Christians should be EMBARRASSED BY THAT SUPPOSED LOGIC!!!!!!

"Mainworry", your bible-thumping bores me to tears! Quote from science books--I'm tired of fiction!

"Greenstateresearcher", why in the world would I EVER EVEN BOTHER TO read from Genesis again, which I already stated to be the perfect example of conditional love?!

The concept is idiotic to begin with.

Bible thumpers claim God invented humans because he was lonely, or for some other selfish purpose, and, after giving his creations free will, chose to severely punish them for exercising that free will.

All the while, knowing exactly what was going to happen after creating them.

The concept of Christiniaty is even more idiotic in that it claims God committed suicide to save his creations from himself.

Sheer lunacy.

Adam And Eve are symbolic.

One view I found interesting was that Adam
is the soul/ subconscious mind while Eve is the conscious mind.
The two become one -and they do create and multiply but the producing factor is about giving birth to new thoughts and new ideas which if you think about it we all produce them.
It's logical to assess that we are responsible for what we think and how we act, we give birth to new ideas everyday.... big ones little ones and those little buggers play an enormous part of our daily life.

Things we say that refer to mental conditions concerning
the impact of *thoughts and *ideas*

You made your bed now lie in it
It's your baby you take care of it
Bad idea
Good idea
Kill an idea if it's an unworthy one.
Raise it up -*idea*- if it has value and worth.

Maybe it's about human "ideas."

Could be....

Men become the ideas they *bear* in mind.

the story of Adam and Eve was a symbolic story ,in fact it was a whole race that was created ,by what is thought to be an Anunaki called the creator ,who produced humanoids to work in their gold mines ,and this religion was created with it to give these people a base for the reason of their existance and to keep them under control.

what is thought today by the distant descendents is a huge distortion of the original script

We are all born sinners. I think no matter who God created first would have done the same thing. I've learned not to question God's ways. And you should be thankful that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. I am a christian and I am not embarrassed in the least. We are not meant to understand everything. We are meant to believe.

Easy there pardner. Maybe the story is an illustration of how humans moved from being a hunter-gatherer society (innocent) to an agricultural society (living by the sweat of your brow). Every culture has developed explanations for parts of their history they don't understand or weren't around to document.

From my studies of the bible and from the devout Catholics I've spoken to about this matter, it all concludes to the same thing: Adam and Eve was a fictional story, created to show god's love and the temptation of evil.

He did not, that's a fallacy taught.

They ate (assimilated or consumed knowledge) from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Satan).

That's why God said;

Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

We all must eat (assimilate or consume knowledge) of the tree of life (Jesus Christ), to live for ever.

MANKIND ADAM

We all have read about Cain and Abel (Gen.4:8-17)
How Cain slew Abel, and God cursed Cain and drove him out.
Then Cain said (Gen.4:14) “that every one that findeth me shall slay me”
Who is Cain worried about?
Then in (Gen.4:17) And Cain knew his wife
Where did Cain find a wife?

The answer is in the Hebrew text (Gen.1:26 and Gen.2:7).

Gen.1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: ….
The word “man” (Gen.1:26)
in Hebrew text looks like this ( אדם )
with no article means “MANKIND”
The word “man” (Gen.1:26) transliterated is (adam).

Gen.2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, ….
The word “man” (Gen.2:7)
in Hebrew text looks like this ( את־האדם )
with article and particle means “THIS SAME MAN ADAM”.
The word “man” (Gen.2:7) transliterated is (eth-Ha adham).

So on the sixth day God created or made MANKIND.

On the eighth day God formed THIS SAME MAN ADAM.

Like what mainworry said they ate from the tree of knowledge which by the sounds of it would provide them with the knowledge that he doesnt exist and thus christanity would be no more.

If you have children, then you will be like Adam and Eve to all your descendents. What you do, will affect them for thousands of years. I hate to be the one to rain on your parade, but you will be held accountable, even for people that you affect, that aren't your biological children. Amen...
