if you do some intense hoolahooping...then sure =] the main thing you want to do is to get your heart rate up and maintain it there. i'm not a hoolahooper so I don't know how intense it gets. but to really target fat burn most efficiently you'd have to hoolahoop for roughly 40-60 mins...which is quite a long time to keep the hoop going...lol

but, you should still burn calories and some fat doing it for less than 40 mins.

Hula hooping will help you have stronger abdominals. but no, I don't really think it could instantly give you a flat stomach.
