There is a vaccine for cervical cancer that is going through approval so far it has a 100% success rate. Conservatives are opposed to it because they say it will promote teenage sex. How many people even knew that Cervical Cancer was a potentially sexually transmitted and this still screws the people that get it through heredity.
I also have met a woman whose husband cheated on her and gave it to her does she deserve to die because of the Conservatives views.

This is yet another great example of why conservative Christians (aka Right Wing Nut Jobs) should NOT be put in charge of ANYTHING EVER!! Their argument in this instance is particularly inane.... teen sex is promoted first and foremost by hormones, all natural God-given hormones. Nothing the media can do will have much impact one way or the other. Sadly the best deterrent to teen sex is education, something our conservative friends don't think too highly of.

Yi!
Well, I have always considered myself a conservative Christian, but I don't agree with that at all! I think that vaccination is a wonderful idea, especially if it is mandatory! The thinking that it promotes promiscuity just doesn't make sense to me. It says that this vaccination protects against A sexually transmitted disease, but there are so many others, so we still need to educate our teens (not to mention that in spite of this curing A sexually transmitted disease, we still need to be educating our kids on teen pregnancy too!). I just don't get it......

The answer is simple. Money. The so called "Christian" Conservatives are paid off by drug companies in the form of stock options and the like in order to prevent cures for cancer. Some drug companies truly want to cure cancer, but others know that keeping cancer patients sick will keep them needing the daily drugs that those drug companies carry.

I don't think that they consider the consequences that would occur if they won every battle they fight. They don't seem to realize that there are perfectly innocent reasons to need some things, like this vaccine, that do not deserve to be punished because parents haven't taught their children to keep their parts to themselves.

Well said...well said indeed.

Its like how christians oppose stem cell research because "it encourages abortions". How many women get an abortion in the name of stem cell science!?!?! That's like saying being an organ donor promotes car accidents!
