Cats can sense human pheremones really well. They probably could tell that you were pregnant, because your body would be emitting different smelling pheremones. Like how they say men are more attracted to women when they are ovulating because they can subconsciously smell the pheremones. It's similar to that. Cats are seriously, quite clever creatures. But if you're wanting to conceive and your cat isn't acting differently towards you, don't be upset and think you aren't pregnant, I wouldn't rely on them to predict pregnancy.

YES!!! Not only do they know, but they can act out too, so she may not give you a shower, but she/he could leave you "presents" just the same. I had 2 children w/in the last 3 years and my now 11 yr old female knew as soon as I did. With my second pregnancy, after seeing how she acted with my first, it was what made me buy a pregnancy test before I was even late. She hovered over me, nipped at my ankles, meowed constantly at my feet and never let me go to the bathroom alone. Then she chilled out after the initial "shock", but as I neared the end, she started having accidents on the floor.

In my experience, YES!!!
I was twice pregnant and both times my cats showed reactions.
They loved to lye on my tummy or just put their heads on it.
By the way two pregnancies, two different cats.

Pregnant women "smell" pregnant. Any animal with an enhanced sense of smell can tell (as can some more astute human beings). So yeah, your cat and/or dog can tell.

Now...do they care....that's another question.

When my ex-wife was pregnant our cat kept kneading on her stomach ( pushing with it's front paws on her stomach ) I have since heard of others experiencing the same behavior. Strange but true.

i think so...i had a roomate and our cat used to always climb up and lay on her belly...it was like that's the only place she would lay eventually we found out she was pregnant and the cat continued to lay on her belly through out the pregnancy then after she had the baby the cat stopped...coincidence...i think not.

I'm not sure, but I know that my cat can tell when I'm sick. She sits by me all the time as if she knows I'm not feeling well. So I wouldn't doubt that cats with their heightened senses can tell pregnancy.

I know that when I was pregnant my cat use to lay over my stomach and if my daughter kicked her she would start purring and needing my stomach. She even was very loving to my daughter when she was born. I don't know about if they know before you know. But animals are very knowledgeable.
