My sister died in Feb. 2001. No one told us anything. We found out over the computer from the S.S. death index but it does not say how she died or where she died. We have talked with the police since we failed a missing persons report but they can not tell us anything cause they don't know where she died at. We do know she did not die in Florida. Every where we look no one can give us an answer. We have check the computer that we don't know where to go now. We have checked every site possible. We think she died in GA. But we can not afford anymore. Is there any way to find out? Please help her name was Belinda Cartwright.

I already went to the courts and there is nothing here. If she did not die in Florida then they tell us they can't help us.

In whatever state you believe she died in whether it's in Florida or Georgia ...you have to contact the Vital Records office for that State, and request that a death certificate or ask for some information that could help you know whether or not she died in that state or not. As long as you are a immediate family member not distant family ( you have a direct tie to the deceased..i.e.. Mother, daughter , sister etc...) which you are an immediate family member, and after verifying some information or if you live in either state could go in person, but you are going to be asked to prove your relationship if infact she died in FL or GA, and then you should know!!!

You Can also check out this site below to search for information pertaining to her whereabouts, or death..... for FREE!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Did she go by any other first name. I did a search at: http://www.legacy.com/ on Cartwright and found 327 entries, but no Belinda.

Another place you can look: http://www.obituaries.com/obits.asp
but I think it is associated with legacy.com

Did you try calling ss? Call them and ask them how they were notified that she was dead. Or contact your local tv news and ask them. They might be willing to help you.
