Douglas Adams: A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof was to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

John Capozzi: A free lunch is only found in mousetraps.

Lord Samuel: A friend in need is a friend to be avoided.

Robert Frost: A person will sometimes devote all his life to the development of one part of his body; the wishbone.

Conan O'Brien: A study in the Washington Post says that women have better verbal skills than men. I just have one thing to say to the authors of that study: Duh.

Herbert Hoover: About the time we can make ends meet, somebody moves the ends.

Dave Barry: Although Golf was originally restricted to wealthy Protestants, today it's open to anybody who owns hideous clothing.

Mark Twain: Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.

Unknown Author: Always borrow money from a pessimist, he doesn't expect to be paid back.

In the depths of every heart, there is a tomb and a dungeon, though the lights, the music and the revelry above may cause us to forget their existence, and the buried ones or prisoners that they hide. But sometimes, and oftenest at midnight, those dark receptacles are flung wide open.

"An unjust peace is not worth the blood, sweat, and tears that were spared to keep it. That peace is the shackles that make us slaves to the whims of others. True peace, being not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice and liberty, is not granted by the mercy of one's enemies. It is borne of the sacrifices made by those willing to fight and die for it. This peace is the only cause worthy of so arduous an effort, and is the only reward worth so high a price." -- Me
