I always call the local gym and work out a deal with the personal trainer there. I can usually get a pretty good price for one or two months. It works like a charm~

You have to burn 3500 calories more than you eat to lose 1 pound of fat. But some healthy foods help your body to burn off calories. Some carbs are good like fruit. Some are real bad like refined wheat-- bread, pasta, cookies, crackers, cake, donuts etc. I bet you eat loads of bad carbs. To find out why some are good and others are bad see site below. Has info on exercise also.
Reading a few sentences on posts will not give you enough info to lose that weight. But you do not need to read an entire book either. They are bloated to make them bigger so they can charge more. Just invest a few minutes in yourself by reading below site to understand how foods affect your body. It also tells you how to lose retained water which makes you heavier.

that's almost the same as my goal, but i'm giving my self more time so i can keep off the weight. if you lose the weight slower, it is way easier to keep it off.
do this:
give yourself 1,400 calories a day
don't waste them by drinking juice or gatorade. drink water or propel. stay away from candy, fried foods, fast food, chips, soda(not even diet soda), donuts, and sugar.
exercise is the key to weight loss. in the beginning take it slow. make plans to exercise for 1 hour every day. swim, walk, ride your bike, jog, do anything that will burn calories.
make sure to count your calories. write down everything you eat and how many calories are in it. just stick to it. if you are seriously motivated and committed to do it keep to it! don't give up or you'll never be closer to your goal. hope my advice helps!

I say exercise as much as possible, cut your portions in half (whatever you normally eat take about half as much of it), drink at least 8 cups of water daily, and try to lay of snacks, junk food and carbs. I'm in a similar situation, 15 yrs old, 5'1 and 145 lbs i hope to lose as much as i can befor the end of the summer.

Be aware of what you eat. Try to avoid eating fatty foods especially fast food. You can walk around your neighborhood in the morning after you eat breakfast then gradually pick up your pace to jogging after a week or so. Then after a few more weeks when you feel you can then you can run. Things like that. =)

Eat slowly. It gives your stomach a chance to tell your brain that you're full. Cut down on junk food. Be sure to exercise.

First, let me Congradulate you on deciding to improve your" health for life" and not just wanting to "get skinny', because if that's all you want to do is "get skinny" then don't eat. Now to get serious....Changing your physical looks requires, knowledge commitment, and self control.First go to the doctor and get a physical. They will tell you what's going on inside. Cholestrol count , Sodium levels, BMI etc...Next go to the gym. Get a two week "free" pass and use the trainers ,they are skilled to help you get the "knowlegde" you need to lose the excess weight you do not need. Next get a diet/cookbook. I recommmend the G.I Diet or the "Micheal Thurmond Weight Lose Book. Remember whatever you decide to do you must "stick" to it. Losing weight takes time..."you already know this". One trick everyone trys is to elimante one food item from their usual routine and add one exercise. The more you exercise the more food you require to maintain the "burning system" you turned on inside you. Your body will require more fluid...(not soda's)...water!!!!!
Keep in mind each day will be a challenge. But if you desire to get in shape, and stay in shape, you must stay focuse on the "health of your body" and not the size of the jeans your trying to fit into .
If you "slip-up" on your food commitments ,so what... you got to get relaxed about it all..and imagine your body working to its full potential, to benefit you and only you. It's your body and "you can change it " if you want to. Good luck :).

That is something that you might be able to pull off. Especially if you drink alot of soda, or eat alot of junk. To start, Run, compound this with weight training, (muscle burns more cals then fat) And you will be damn close to your goal
