I, personally no. My wife's parents DEFINITELY have a favorite grandchild; my wife's BROTHER's daughter. They are cuban and the male of the family has children, grandchildren. The female of the family has disappointments.

I have 2 grandchildren whom I've adopted. They are both in the autistic spectrum and can be quite challenging. No, neither is my favorite because: 1. it is not fair 2. they each have "gifts" which are special.

My mom favors my sister's kids because my sister's husband has enough money to care for my mom when she gets old. I think my mom is a manipulative b!tch who only sees where she can gain monetary improvment...her life shows little love.
