there are so many programs out there. Some create DVD menus, some don't. Many will take the videos in their original format, like Sonic MyDVD (my favorite). Some need it to be converted into DVD (.VOB) format first (that is totally stupid to make you do all the work, but they do anyway).
You also need a DVD burner, because CD burners can't burn DVDs.
Or some programs let you create a disk "image" file, which is a way of storing what would be on your disk on your hard drive.

do you have dvd-writer, the software it accompanied should do it, if you don't have that software, then you have to buy one, select the right option, the software will automatically recode/convert it into dvd format and record it to dvds, I'm using NERO express.

not so difficult...you need..
1. cd burning program..(nero...whatever)
2. cd/dvd burner
3. the program will encode you movies into dvd format

ulead is pretty good (on a fast machine at least)
