I seriously doubt that any atheist has ever done this. It's one of those unsupported anecdotes that Christians like to trot out that has no basis in reality.

It happens about as often as Christians on their deathbed suddenly calling out for Allah or Vishnu. Or Moslems suddenly calling out for Zeus or Odin.

If it did happen though, it would be pretty funny. Imagine being able to live a hedonistic, 'evil' atheistic lifestyle all their life, and then at the very last moment calling out to God and going to heaven. Kinda makes living that Christian life a real waste of time doesn't it?

First, you don't know how all atheists behave as they are dying so you can't make that generalization. Second, why are you asking us? We don't control the actions of all atheists. And the term "god" has become so secular that is has no meaning these days. I say goddamn all the time, and it has nothing to do with god. Its simply an expression.

I swear I will repeat this to every single Christian alive if necessary to get the point across.

I am NOT a NON-BELIEVER. I BELIEVE in my religion. I would thank you to use the term non-Christian, as non-believer is insulting because of the connotation that you use it in.

Now, as to your question, my grandfather didn't, and he was an aethist to his toes. The Depression did that to him. I was very upset when my Christian father lied at his funeral and said he'd accepted Christ at his bedside. I was there; that was a lie! I bet there are more out there, people whom Christian relatives or friends decided to attribute "repentence" etc on post-partum. Leave the dead alone, for goodness sake!

I think that those people are not really atheist. They would be more agnostic. Those who are unsure all their lives, but do not know or care enough to actually delve into spirituality and upon death, fear a life of damnation.

Just my thoughts.

You make a habit of going and standing within earshot the death beds of non-believers and atheists, do you?

Only if they're dying of a mental disease.
Maybe then they're out of their right mind.

People do not call out for God when they are about to die:

I live by Ethics. My conscience is clean (for myself, my partner, my family, my friends)

I do not need to call out to any god at any moment.

What you're saying is not accurate.
