I think it should have been called "Broke My Back Mounting Him"

Or maybe "Go West, Young Man...Now go South...ohh, Further South..."

...or "When Harry Met Dave"

...or "Oklahomo!"

Do you mind a serious answer to your humorous question?

The name "Brokeback" is very evocative of the subject of the movie, which was a tragedy about two people who had found each other, but ended up destroying their own lives and those of others such as their spouses because society wasn't ready to accept their love (and neither were they prepared to challenge that society).

Humpback Mountain would have been one whale of a tale, if one was in a blue moon. Or, halfback mountain if one was into sports metaphors. I have not seen the movie. Somehow it makes me envision the Marlboro Man holding hands with John Wayne. I am sure it is great cinema, but do I really need to see it? I'll ask my domestic partner Bruce what he thinks.

I think, because that was the name of the Mountain where things took place, the name was appropriate, however an alternate choice of titles would be; You've Broken My Heart Mountain, You Screwed Up Straight Dude Who Says He Isn't GAY!

Brokebutt Mountain: Homo On The Range
PS: That whirring sound you hear is John Wayne turning over and over in his grave.

I always liked Humpback Mountain.

But I guess there would be no reason for a whale to be on a mountain.

Broke-In-Back is more like it. People would have definitely found hairyback mountain more offensive.
