I want to make one like you get at jack in the box.
I have one of those milkshake machines. I get ice cream and put in some milk, and then turn it on buy it always comes out chunky.

A blender works better; its also more to clean. But it also helps to pull the container off its holder so the spindle goes all over the container. Otherwise it either takes forever or you have to use lots of milk. Watch how they do it at any place that uses hard ice cream. Most places use soft ice milk which mixes easier.

My favorite shake is an equal amount of canned peaches, with the juice, and ice cream.

MILKSHAKES

REGULAR:

2 c. milk
1 c. vanilla ice cream of frozen yogurt
1 c. fruit such as bananas, strawberries, peaches or raspberries or
A few tbsp. chocolate powder or syrup or use chocolate ice cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Sugar to taste

Blend in a blender until smooth. Add more or less ice cream for thicker or thinner milkshakes.

FAT FREE:

3 c. very cold skim milk
2 c. frozen fruit, partially thawed and broken into sm. chunks
1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine ingredients in blender, blend until smooth. Add more or less frozen fruit or milk to make milkshakes thicker or thinner. If milkshake is too fruity, make a very thick milkshake then thin with milk to taste.

I always add ice to my milkshakes, if that is something you want to try.

I guess the trick is going through different kinds of blend cycles. Like on your blender, you should have different buttons. Using common sense, press these different buttons to get a different kind of blend.

You could also try adding more milk.

I just put in ice cream, the kind of fruit I like, a little milk, maybe some chocolate syrup, and blend it up!! There is no exact science to it...do what you like and experiment.

ice in the blender first, crush. Add ice cream and a little milk. I ususally add some vanilla extract and/or chocolate syrup. Blend. Then, if it gets to runny, put it back in the freezer for just a bit, and enjoy!!! OH! And if you want one that tastes that mint chocolate chip and gives you just a tiny buzz, instead of vanilla extract add creme de mint and creme de cacao (Basically chocolate and mint liquers)...so yummy!!!

Let it run longer or add a little more milk.

You aren't blending it long enough. And you probably need to add more milk.
