He wont lay on my lap without meowing after 2 minutes. I pet him, sometimes I give him treats. It is annoying he will start meowing and run away at the same time he is purring. Also he must like me since he rubs against my leg and sleeps in my room at night

use the word 'up' and tap your lap, repeatedly, just 'up' or his name and 'up'...initially you may have to pick him up and put on your lap, again using just the word 'up', then when he's up there, tell him 'good kitty'... and pet him.

and repeat...they are smart animals. within two or three years he should be doing just as you wish.

It could just be the cat's personality and nothing can be done about. Some cats are just not lap cats.

Buy a dog. That will train your cat. there is nothing else you can do because cats are independent little bastards.

Dogs are wonderful loving creatures.
