Additionally, a lot of states have vet educational benefits to state schools that go beyond what the feds offer. It usually involves tuition, by not fees (which are half the cost), books, room, board, etc. Check with a state vet's admin versus national website. You can also call the school ur interested in, most all have a vet coordination center or may be done thru financial aid. Just do your research.

Your father would have had to be 100% service connected disabled when he died. He did not have to die from his disability but he had to be rated 100%. That is what happened to my family. My husband died and the V.A put one through school and would have the other one but he enlisted and got his own benefits.

and by the way I am sorry for your loss.

No unfortunately not, Unless he transferred his GI Bill benefits to you. Which that haven't let service members do until recently. Or if he was a Medal of Honor recipient, than you may go to any of the service academies free of charge.

Sorry, Charlie...no such luck.

You can join the ROTC for subsidized college funding or you could join the ranks and earn the GI (Montgomery) Bill Benefits.

contact the vet rep in your county. They do pay for some vets dependents but he might have had to die from a service connected injury or have retired from the military. The vet rep will know.

Unlikely - unless he died 'in service.'

If you want veteran's benefits - why don't you go out and earn them?

They will pay if...his death was service related...did he get VA disability? And you are still in school, that is, under 18, or in college and still under your mother's income.
