I am running a Dell Demension 2400 with WIN XP Service Pack 2 and I think I have a coruupted file in IE 6 creating "page not found" or "page cannot be displayed" almost every other time I change pages. The Service pak was downloaded from the net so I dont have a CD it put in the slot. and SFC wont continue with out the disc.

You can download firefox or Netscape browser, then uninstall IE and redownload IE manually from the Microsoft website and then re-install IE. I think that is your best solution. Otherwise there's always Microsoft support to help you with their cd-rom.

Most likely you downloaded a security patch that needs to be configured to allow you to view the sites you are having trouble with. Go into your security settings and check out the settings, you may be able to restore back to before the download to verify it was the download that caused the problem.

Can you do a system restore to a date prior to the download? Then go to support.microsoft. com and download a clean SP2.
