You want to know about me or my husband? I'm not sure by your question so I'll answer both. Mine was a short labor. An hour and a half. Much less than my mothers 14hours with me. Everything went right. I avoid painkillers. In retrospect I would have used them but I just felt it was personally important to keep my first born clean of any synthetics. My husband stood by. He brought an ipod player and played soothing music for me. He was very attentive and anxious. Seeing me in such pain really hurt him but once the daughter was out all of that was forgotten. It wasn't exactly a 'movie' moment bc the realities of birth are far more 'graphic' but nonetheless, it was the best day of my life. You can't really understand what it means to be 'complete' until you have given birth. Maybe that why men are idiots all of their lives! (joking).

My story is long so i'll try to keep it short and to the point.
My due date and a 25th wedding anniversary that we were planning for my (ex) hubbies parents were planned for the same night.
I went into labor a day early, I didnt want the parents to come because I was afraid they would miss the party. They showed up (of course, I'm sure they were excited) they came to visit me in my room while I was in labor but it was the calm before the storm, I was sitting quietly and everyone thought we were in for a long night. The parents decided to go back to the car and rest. My hubby and I talked and decided he should talk his parents into going home because of the party we didn't want them to be at the hospital with us all night and be tired the next day for the suprise party. My hubby goes down the parking lot and finds them and tells them to just go home.. we could be in for a long night. At that exact moment... I'm in full out labor, the baby is starting to crown. The staff are paging my hubby on the loud speaking throughout the hospial and the security gaurds are hunting for him in the parking lot. They finally find him.. he comes running, just in time to see me give birth to our 1st child, a girl weighing 6lbs 13 oz. His parents of course wait it out and get to hold theyre 3rd grandchild but 1st granddaughter. We of course missed the 25th wedding anniversary but my hubby, myself and his beautiful baby girl were the hit of the anniversary party even though we couldnt make it.
My husband and I have had another child, recently separated and I am working towards getting married again soon. Wow how life changes!

With my first daughter before I got the epidural (while being induced) I was fine and handling the contractions till they broke my water....then HOLY COW!! The pressure started and I turned into a pain induced mad women. I kept saying, "I can't do this, I can't do this! I don't want to do this!" My hubby looked at me all confused like he had no idea what to say. So I think he said the only thing that he was thinking and said, "Well, honey I'm sorry but you have to." I looked at him and said, "I know but I can't." followed by, "Please stop touching me, I know you're trying to be supportive but it's really bugging me, I just need you to not touch me!" This of course made him move to the other end of the room. Finally they came in and gave me an epidural and I completely changed and told the anesthesiologist that I loved him, and thanked him. My hubby looked at my mom now even more confused and said, "What is wrong with her?" and my mom said, "Oh, she's not in pain anymore. It's just the epidural talking."

My hubby went white as a ghost and nearly broke my hand while supposedly holding it for my support then told me when it was over " I'll never let you go throught that again" that was a 44 hour labour. We have just had another baby (the last i will admit) and he was just as scared as the first time only this time it was me nearly breaking his hand instead.P.S. Be warned hubbys tend to steal your gas right before you have another contraction make sure your alert enough to catch them sliding off the bed.

My first labor was extremely difficult. By the time my husband got to see me, i had an IV tubes everywhere, loss of blood, vomit on my clothes. I looked like hell. When he walked in, I asked him to hold my hand. He took one look at me and said hold on, and he sat down.
"Honey, what's wrong?" I said reaching out.
"Shut up and leave me alone! You have no idea what labor is doing to me!"

17 years is a long time but, I still remember what happened... When I went into labor, I bit the ship out of my baby father hand. I cussed the nurses and doctors out like there was no tomarrow but, once the little rascal came out I wasn't hungry anymore and my baby's father brought me one of everything from the caffeteria like when I was pregnant. It wasn't until my sweet angels came out that my heart burn stopped.

you will sense your abdomen tighten up in case you're having contractions or you have difficult sharp pains on your back would desire to you be unlucky to have back exertions. Or of path, your water will smash. For me, the 1st contractions made me sense like i grew to become into having undesirable era cramps or very virtually like i grew to become into constipated and then my abdomen could tighten for a fews seconds and be very uncomfortable after which you would be able to sense the tightening launch. so a good distance as having a bowel circulate...... It happens. no person cares. no person talks approximately it later. And in case you choose to no longer have an epidural you nevertheless wont sense it. all your power and thoughts is on your vagina and approximately getting that toddler out. in case you crap your self they cover it up and act like it did no longer even ensue all formerly anyone can take a image or perhaps observe it. :) i think of my water breaking and leaking all over the floor grew to become into extra embarrassing than slightly poo. the only reason i understand I did it grew to become into because of the fact I asked my mom if I did or did no longer. After she pronounced confident, I kinda laughed and pronounced I had no clue! :)

well my water broke at home i had no contractions. so i rang the hospital and they said come in, they checked to see if my water had broke then they weren't going to admitt me coz i wasn't having any contractions but they did that was at 9am on sunday morning.went into my room they started my contractions about 12noon. i was in established labour by 5pm i had the gas at about 10pm that started to make me sick so about 12 midnight i had a pethadine injection, that helped a little then i had an epidural about 4am.....that let me sleep in and out of contractions for about 45min.....my mum, sister, cousin, brother and sisters boyfriend were there....about5am they had to put a suction cap on my babies head to see how much oxygen he had left (by this stage i had only dialated 5cm)by sister went home coz she was 7 months pregnant her boyfriend went to work...... it came 9am and they checked me over one more time and then decided that i was to have an emergency c section. My sisters boyfriend came back about 9.30 and i had my legs in the steerips and he walked in and saw my you know what.....then two minutes before i got wheeled out my sister walked in. then my mum got to come in the room with me.....i was so nervous.and she was trying to keep me calm and so we both tried to guess how big he was and she said 8lb5oz and i said 7lb10oz and he was 7lb9oz.so the nurse brought him over to me when they check him and cleaned him up a little, i had a tear fall down my cheeck and then i was in recovery for about two hours, he was born at 11.27 am on monday morning. then i went up to my room and 10 minutes later he was there nut i only got to see him for about 20 minutes coz he had to be kept in the nursery coz he had low blood sugar levels.....but i got him back to days later and now we are inseperable
