i have tried all ways to do this-i.e. using the shift key. however, each time i use this key this happens--]o;k2q, or when i try to use this w/another key -i get -how to use internet explorer

In all likelyhood you need a new keyboard.

Hold the "shift" key down while hitting the ampersand sign.

have you tried the old fashion way...shift and the letter you want in caps?

it's another suggestion that you can do sometimes the keys don't work b/c the keyboard is dirty...
