This is not new evidence.

The gospel of Judas was written about 180 A.D. However it was written by a group of heretics called Gnostics who believed that Jesus was only a man and not God.

Catholics of both of that time and now do not believe it is true or inspired by God.

This is clearly shown when Catholics selected which gospels and other writings should be included in the New Testament, the gospel of Judas was not included.

With love in Christ.

Yes, and it is very interesting to me. Why could he not be? Without Judas, his purpose here would never be fulfilled. Plus, Judas was being expected to take on much more than anyother disciple, Jesus probably had a good reason to care more about him.

This writing has nothing to do with Judas. Judas hanged himself before Jesus was crucified. Who would have known of this so called secret between him and Jesus to have written it down almost 200 years later?
It's nonsense. It was presented at the council of Nicea and it was established to be unworthy of canonization.
It wasn't written by an eyewitness and is therefore Heretic.

I've read exerpts but not the whole thing. I didn't know it was online...I'll have to check it out.

I also like reading the Jewish writings like the Telmud. Which has an interesting take...it has similar things to the Bible, but you can see where things may have been distorted. One is Judas - in the Telmud Juda is the grave keeper...

Remember, that manuscript was written about 300 years after the supposed events. It is also completely unknown just who it was that wrote it. So it is totally unreliable as a source of historical edification, and is useless for learning anything about either Jesus or Judas.

Judas was Jesus' most beloved [male] disciple, and the Magdalene was his most beloved [female] disciple. Peter was the traitor, and he took his hate for women to Rome to create Christianity...

Pistis Sophia book II
Now it happened when the First Mystery finished saying these words to the discipls, Mary came forward. She said: "My Lord, my mind is understanding at all times that I should come forward at any time and give the interpretation of the words which she spoke, but I am afraid of Peter, for he threatens me and he hates our race."

Have you read and studied the Bible? I think you haven't. Judas hanged himself after-ward because he knew he'd done wrong. Why do you believe what anyone writes and not believe the biblical account?

i read it yes,
and it makes a lot of sense to me.
according to this book judas was the only one who was brave enough to play the role of a traitor to fulfill jesus commitment.
jesus asked him to do it.
the book also implies there was no money involve, judas did what his master told him to do.
