If aviation is in your future then YES by all means. You will also learn military ideals and procedures. Depending on your base you may get some free flying time that is worth GOLD these days with fuel prices. Any hands on learning having to do with aircraft is worth the effort.

i joined it when i was 14 which has been well. over 10 yrs ago but I enjoyed it. It's similar to ROTC but more relaxed. You learn how to do Search and Rescue missions. There are yearly encampments which are also very interesting. It was a wonderful experience.
