I'm Christian.
In my view, to be Christian, you must be what it means, and Christian means to be "Christ-like."
No one is exactly like Christ, but to sincerely live by the WWJD (what would Jesus do?) rule, is what a true Chrsitian should be...
We must believe who He is, and live a life that He says we must, and not just on Sundays or the Sabbath day, but at all times.
I have learned a lot being not in a church and being in different types of churches...
Yes, there is much hypocrisy in the churches- but heck! Hypocrisy is everywhere! People in churches seem to be held at a much higher regard because of their proclamation in a perfect God and His perfect way, and this is why many notice more when they make the same mistakes that a non-Christian does...
But that high standard should be there...If someone says they are a Christian, what does that mean?
First that they should know what it is to BE a Christian.
The basics- the Bible. We need to know the Word of God, before we can say or portray that we do.
Just because someone babysits once in a while doesnt make them a child care professional. Just because somene likes to do hair doesnt make them a stylist. Just because someone goes to concerts doesnt make them a groupie.
So, just saying you are a Christian doesnt mean you are.
We need to show we are, by living a life that we are supposed to- the one where "Christian" rooted from- the teachings of Christ.
I know tons of people who are Christian and live the life of. Praise God! But I also know many who say they are Christian, but have never even read the Word of God...
The Bible teaches us Christ was...What did He teach? He showed and taught many things to people and also to His disciples, who He told to go out and then teach the people His way- how to treat oneanother, God, themselves...
We need to know the Word in order to know how to be Christian. Many religions (which is man made, not GOD made) do things that God tells us not to...
Just like the Catholic religion...I know where you are going with the Catholic thing. I agree.
They break the very first Commandment:

Ex 20: 3-5

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

"Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

They do this all the time, with all their statues of the Pope, statues and prayers, shrines and rituals onto Mary, angels, etc...
And in Mark 12:28-29, God says this is the most important Commandment:
"And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:"

So, I see where you are going with that. But I also know that there are many Catholics who are sincere in their faith and belief. God will judge us all on what we knew and what we did what what we knew. He knows our hearts.
Good comment/question!

I am definitely a Christian. Wasn't sure until about a month ago, but something happened! Been going to Church all my life, but kinda let the words roll off my back a bit too much. This time is going to be different! I will always live for God until I meet Him face to face!

Yes I do like non-Christians. In fact, most of my friends aren't. I believe in the phraise "Love the sinner, not the sin," because that's what Jesus did for us on the Cross, and everyday.

p.s. I am a Pentacostal Christian, and view Catholics as equals.

I am a Christian. I am not Catholic, but yes, Catholics are Christian as well. As a Christian, God calls me to love everyone regardless of their beliefs. I am human, so I will admit their are people I don't like too much sometimes, but that dislike is not based on their belief or unbelief in God. It is usually connected to their behavior and attitude.

yes i'm a christian not always perfect but wer'e working on it lol. you have to be careful going around saying that ALL catholics aren't christians, because many are. We are called by Christ to love others, so yes I like people who arent Christians. In fact the best way to bring someone to the Lord is to be a real friend and an uncompromising of chrisitanity for them.

Catholic is definitely Christian. Who ever told you it wasn't? Catholic is simply one denomination of Christianity.

Yes, in fact I have quite a few atheistic friends. Jesus hung out with sinners. Like what He said, it's not the healthy (in this case, Christians) who need a doctor, but the sick.
