I was rolled up in a fetal position in a corner mumbling the words "answers, need answers" for 16 hours.

Where to start, eh?
Umm, yeah. "Excerpts from the Journal of A Researcher"
DAY 1
First and foremost, I did my usual routine; observing. I observed the people's reaction towards the two-day off. Since I started observing people around here (I rarely ask and answer) , that has been the second coffee break of the year 2006 and the first one after Yahoo! Answers is no longer in Beta mode.
After reading all the screams and the shrieks of Answerholics be it in Yahoo! Answers Team's blog or in Yahoo! Answers itself i.e. Q's and A's which managed to pop in before being froze, it sure differs A LOT than before.
More users, more addicts, more fuss, more profits?
Later, found that most comments are sequacious, I yawned and signed out of the network.
So I decided to conserve energy and stayed offline for a long time. I went out shopping with my mom, went to the bookstore, observed the throng, exercised, read books, studied, had quality time with my family and all the usual stuffs I do.
I thought, "How will the addicts adapt to such a condition? By the way, it was quite a shock to find Yahoo! suggesting its customers to take a break, get some fresh air. Wow."
"I'd hoped Yahoo! will extend the holiday to three weeks...Nah, it's impossible. Unless I am in charge."
I also when to a moderate, once-in-a-month art fiesta. Enjoyed the sights, the people, the art (although I have not understand yet why they like it very much), the sale and much more. It's been ages since I last visited the physical realm of art.
Quite appealing.
I swear I saw a Mona Lisa impersonation.
Also, I bought a book about Global Ethic, an introductory one.
Learnt quie a few thing about world religion.
The name Heron quickly popped in mind.
*Discovered that Yahoo! had a glitch and declared the holiday earlier than actual time as notified by the blog and the forum. That was when the screams and the shrieks became WORSE.
DAY 2
Cruised the Net to some of my watch listed pages. Read the emails from various accounts. Read also the news. Forgot to visit Yahoo! Buzz.
Joined the discussion on DC Comics message boards. I gave my views on Batwoman and studied the members and their behaviour. Very unlikely of those of Yahoo! Answers or any answers site.
Nonetheless, quite similar in a fashion; knowledge width and depth. Still interesting.
Visited an art community, this time a virtual one.
Only browsed the site. Didn't type down anything.
Payed Flickr a visit, too. Those people seem to be in serene mood unlike in Yahoo! Answers.
Flickr was currently in Gamma mode. Wow. What a milestone.
*Yahoo! Answers said it will be back at 11am, CA time.
Searched for the moon at night but failed.
-End of excerpts-
Yes, I do feel the same about the need for the Answers break especially for the whatchamacallit.
As for you, do not be too stressed up with your life. Break all your plans into titbits.
It seems that even a two-day off can finish a two-ton job if you can keep a cool head, agree?

I got the same amount of things done. I usually take breaks and run around the house doing this and that during my normal days. I did find myself coming back to check if anyone was on line though. Can do without the questions just not the people.

Cleaned house, played with the cat, talked with friends, caught up on reading, cleaned the computer, sorted junk, fixed my blog, cooked, took notes on some things I've been needing to look up, spent time with my Fiancee, all kinds of things. But, for the last few weeks, I"ve been taking one or two days off from Answers. Found it to cut down of frustration.

I did absolutely nothing.
Now that I missed a day, though, I feel completely out-of-practice! The new format completely threw me off as well. I hope I can recover by tomorrow.

Five loads of laundry, watched the NASCAR race at Dover, entertained my toddler nieces and had a barbecue with my husband, brother and his wife, my parents and a few neighbors.
