Why do muslims claim they are a peaceful religon then start blowing things up?

Lets face facts, it's not young white christians running about blowing people up, it's young middle eastern mulims. When are the 'peaceful' people of islam going to start taking more responsibility for policing their faith, they are the ones attending mosques and living in these communities so they should be shopping these people immediately, but instead the rest of us are labelled racist for pointing out the truth - muslims are to blame for these actions.

I don't want to spread hate and islamaphobia, I just want to see more responsibility coming from moderate mulims, otherwise they are going to have to accept that their religon will be demonised.

Any thoughts?

I guess I believe it's this way because christians (I'm NOT a christian by the way) haven't formed themselves into a massive terrorist movement (note: movement - not group). There are fringe terrorists such as anti abortionists & animal rights, but they all tend to be about one clear cause they believe in, not a global movement against a section of society, i.e. the west.

I love the answer from the muslim at the bottom of the page. He sprouts a load of half truths then at the end say "watch out sir". Ha! That's exactly what I'm saying! He's a muslim and he's threatening someone who disagrees with him.

The list of countries he lists have all had problems with terrorists.

We can all look at history and say "well that happened" but I'm talking about current events, things that are happening NOW.

well my dear, first let me tell you other facts on the opposite side, look how many bush has killed in the name of GOD, bush says that God told him to do it he even said after 9/11 that he will launch a crusade war; by the way go back to the crusade war that has happened in the middle east on the late of the eleventh century and lasted several years killing thousands, look at the first and the second world war, were Muslims responsible for killing over 30 million and leaving hundreds of millions homeless and handicapped.

look at the discovery of the new world, the Americas killing over 25 million native Americans ( Indians ), look at Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombing were Muslims the doers? look at Irak in 1991 and today... it is an infinite list of fact My friends....

but excuse me Sir, you accusations aren´t valid but still I will try to express my views. initially, it looks that Muslims are just bombarding others which is not true as stated above but still let me tell you that Muslims are the first to condemn such acts, let me too correct you by saying that Muslims try to kill the infidel or Christians, No! it is not true; the proof is that many Muslim countries has suffered from such terrorist bombardment and Muslims too were the victims; as a matter of facts too look at 16 Mai 2003 Casablanca bombardment in Morocco killing 42 Moroccans, similarly many explosions have took place in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and the victims always are native citizens...

so, there are a minority of Muslims who took such actions but the question is what are the reasons behind that?
well, clearly enough it is more a political motivation than religious one, why countries such as Sweden, Finland, Norway, Austria, Czech, Canada, Australia, japan, china and so many aren´t bothered with such acts. the answer is simple and plain it is due to the unfair US foreign policy toward such countries that breeds such actions despite the fact that no religion support it, the doers try to cover it with a religious cover.

one more last fact to add, if such terrorism and suicide bombing is a recent phenomena that appears in the last 20 years; Islam has existed for 1427 years without such a stuff, why then trying to say that Islam is responsible, watch out Sir...

It's similar to sects of Christianity that are judgemental, hypocritical and downright dillusional. There are some Muslims that interpret the Koran to their liking and use it as justification for a jihad which leads to the attacks. The reason that it seems prevelant is because that's all you hear about in the news. Being as it's people encompass a sizable amount of the world's population, those that are peaceful represent an overwhelming majority.

There are plenty of "Christians" who are violent. Take Nichols and McVey.... We were not able to prevent their actions, and we did not prevent the My Lai massacre, either.

Not all people from a religious tradition practice that religion faithfully.

Christians were told by Jesus to love their enemy, and not to spread hate. Would you call yourself a follower of Jesus? Do you clothe the naked, feed the hungry, do you forgive those who tresspass against you? This is quite a challenge. Be sure you can live up to the things you are asking of others.

There have been plenty of white christians blowing stuff up. Look at abortion clinics, oklahoma, Ireland and Iraqs (the war was beause Bush prayed to god and he told him to do it). Also look at the amount of Hate crimes against homosexuals performed by Christian. So how is Christianity any more peaceful.

One of the most importnat beliefs in Islam is Deception. You must say one thing while doing another. Christains call this hypocracy, but in Islam it is necessity. Claim you are for peace and kill everyone who disagrees with you.

it's not the muslims..it just them..the middle easteners..in country that blooded by war..dead people everway..it's just like "no guard prison there"..who blame then?why these guys wanted to blow stuff up..infact in islam suicide is FORBIDDEN and anyone doing that should go to hell for eternity..so why they do it then?why 20years before there no such bombing?

Al-Qaeda is the KKK of Islam. Not the same principles, but the same terrorist and horrificly distorted views of religion. They do not, however, represent the religion as a whole.
