I'll try to make this brief. I know of somebody who has been e-mailing a girl (about 30yrs old) who is in Russia. I have not been able to dig up any dirt on her,so I do not believe she is a scam artist. However,My friend has already sent some money to her so she can come over here. She is now asking him for some more money, something about being solventbefore she can make the trip. She claims to have the visa and all other paperwork, but I do not understand the need for her to prove she is solvent(has money to support herself) before coming over here. Is there some place I can research this to see if she is telling the truth? My friend has ask me for some money to send her and I do not know what to do. Any suggestions? (Give me some websites I can research if you know of any)

In Russia they dont normally issue a visa unless you can prove you have a good job and money in the bank or a thriving business. That's what they mean by solvent. Russia wants to make sure you return.
Probably a scam but the best website would be

www.womenrussia.com

Includes lists and pictures of all the known scammers (see black list) as well as all the phoney dating agencies. Also a lot of great informative articles.

SCAM.
Sorry I did not see this earlier. I have recently met and received communications with two Russian women through a local dating website. They soon started asking for money to help with visa and other arrangements to travel to UK. It was clearly a scam and I believed the "two" women were in fact the same person using two different pictures and email addresses. I thought it was scam as their profiles on Internet kept changing frequently.

Visit www.stopscammers.com
You will likely see her photo there.
Most Russian women on dating sites seem to be scammers.
Certainly a high proportion.
Often there is a hairy Boris somewhere, pretending to be a woman.
Do not part with any money under any circumstances.
This is big business in Russia.
Some seem to make a very good living from scamming.

I'm sorry I can't give you any websites, but my ex was engaged to a Russian woman for awhile. He wanted money from me so he could go over there and meet her. From what he said it was necessary for him to go there and spend some time with her before she would be allowed to leave. He was required to take care of some paperwork there. It sounds like she's scamming your friend.

If she has a job and has already worked interior the U. S., she shouldn't have any situation getting a vacationer visa to the U. S., which will enable her to stay for as much as ninety days. She merely has to persist with interior the process the U. S. Embassy in Bulgaria. she will have the means to often might desire to instruct 3 months of paychecks and/or financial business enterprise statements, as properly as a letter from her business enterprise putting forward that she is in finished-time employment and could be returning to her job after her pass to. Then once you spend 3 months mutually and he or she is going homestead, in case you come back to a call you do prefer to get married, then you certainly might record for a K1 Fiance visa for her.

Your freind would need to prove he is solvent enough to support her; as she would be coming to UK as a visitor to him - he will be asked for bank statements etc to prove this is the case - i'm not too sure they would be asking her to look in her friends account - i'm sorry this does sound like a scam!

If she has already obtained her visa, then there is no need for her to prove solvency. It sounds like a scam.

Instead of sending her money, why doesn't he go there unannounced and visit her. It would probably be much less expensive, and more revealing than anything else.
