so I find myself envying those who have a religion, and how great it really must feel(I think I've asked something like this, but I have a horrible memory; deal with me). but as hard as I try to believe, I honestly can't. does anyone ever feel the same?

Religion & Spirituality is INTRINSIC in all of us. It is our means of connecting with The Source from whence we came...

We need to seek and return to THAT SOURCE once more, not unlike the Salmon that negotiates its way upstream "somewhere" if only to roost after completing its full cycle of Life.

Too bad that Man bungled it all up with their organized churches and man-made doctrines. Hmmph!

Peace be with you!

I have that feeling sometimes where I want to believe something, but it's just not working. I think it would be a lot easier if I had a religion, because I would have something to go by in my life, and have hope for beyond death. But there is always something in the back of my mind (probably the scientific part of my brain) that is telling me no. I can never stay with a single religion because I feel either uncomfortable or I can't help but doubt. So instead, I have my own believes in right and wrong and don't let people scare into joining them or bribe me (i.e. if you join us you will be greatly rewarded, if you don't you will burn in hellfire you stupid heathen).

I feel that religions just seperate people more than they need to be, and that if I stayed to one religion I would lose sense of myself and go by one outline on how to live life.

I don't claim a religion but I believe in God. My son is sitting by me and he said to tell you to join a club you will get the same thing. That from a 16 year old . That is his opinion not mine. Follow your heart and if you don't believe ,that is ok. I wonder what it is that you envy about the religious people? Is it their faith? Their fellowship with one another? Just go with what feels right for you.

To feel the same things they do would be nice. But I can't bring myself to believe what they believe. I have to find other ways to feel good, be happy and have hope.

Don't give into religion. It has a lot of promises, but in the end, we have to find our own ways of making ourselves happy.

i had religion growing up as a child. when i was old enough to think i threw it away because i realize it was a bunch of crap. i thought that people didn't believe in magic any more. i only feel contempt for those who have to turn to religion to get through life. they are weak and delusional, and i feel sorry for their children who are lied to from birth and not presented with any alternatives or proof of what they are told.

Yeah I don't believe either. But I don't wanna be controlled by a religion. But I agree it's hard to blindly believe in something.

I know it seems like it the same thing, but I really don't have a religion. I have a relationship with Jesus Christ: God who became man to pay the penalty for our misdeeds. He loves me so much that he allowed himself to die on the cross for what I did wrong. Don't seek religion. Seek God. Look to Him by reading His love letter to us (The Bible) and through talking to Him (prayer). Develop a relationship with your ultimate best friend.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Maybe if you close your mind and eyes, you'll find it easier to believe in religion.

Don't worry about it. Just think of all the hours you'll save in your lifetime by not chanting, bowing and mumbling to a non-existant supernatural being. Use them wisely for something useful.
