All of that carbon that is added to it. Some soda products have a higher percentage of carbon that is in it. Cocoa-Cola, and Pepsi are one of the highest leading companies with the most carbon added to it. I don't drink soda too often myself, so I wouldn't know that it can actually give you the hiccups.

Hiccups are the result of air moving..in and out of Ur esophagus...you are probably exhaling as you are swallowing ...that causes a hiccup
