I'm not asking what you think tastes better! Just asking what brand Dr.Pepper is.

Dr Pepper is it's own company, the Dr Pepper/7UP company, which I believe is owned by Cadbury-Schweppes. I've seen a lot of things here about sales and which is which and all of this. Dr Pepper is bottled by and sold with both Coke and Pepsi. Typically, it depends on where you are. It's not so much northern or southern either like was said in an earlier post. I think it's actually more common to be bottled by Coke in the north, as Mr. Pibb, which is actually a Coke product, is more common in the south. On Long Island, Dr Pepper is bottled by Coke and on sale when Coke is on sale (I work at a grocery store so I'm well aware of this.) When I'm away upstate at college, it's bottled and managed by Pepsi, one of the rare places in the northeast I've seen this. Mr. Pibb isn't available in the stores here either, just in fountains with Coke. Dr Pepper is on Sale with Pepsi in the Albany area. In the south, I think typically Dr Pepper is managed by either independent bottlers or Pepsi, and is sold in vending machines with Pepsi, since Mr. Pibb is present by Coke here. Another thing I've noticed. In soda fountains, it can vary no matter where you are. However, it seems to me generally in fountains Dr Pepper will be with Pepsi, even if Coke has the typical bottling rights for the area and Mr. Pibb will be with Coke, even a fountain or restaurant is the only way you could get Mr. Pibb in the area. I've also seen some Coke fountains with Dr Pepper here, but I'm just saying as a generalization. Also, in Burger King I've noticed that no matter where you are, they have Dr Pepper with Coke products. So it's kind of a sketchy topic but neither company owns it, they both bottled it in different areas of the country though.

Dr. Pepper is their own brand like A&W I believe because when soda goes on sale for Pepsi and Coke...Dr. P is never in either catergory. I prefer Dr. P over the other two.

My bottle says "bottled under the authority of the Dr. Pepper company, Plano, TX." I thought Coke or Frito-Lay owned it. When you go out to eat, ever notice a lot of places serve just Coke, or just Pepsi products? I see the Doctor served with the Coke products. "Go to Dr. Pepper.com, to experience more" my label says. Have you tried Berries and Cream Dr. Pepper, yet? Yum.
