This is my favorite one... What is yours?

Luke 11:33-36
The Lamp of the Body
"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

The most prominent one has to be The Prodigal Son since it hits home to ALL OF US SINNERS...

Of course, The Good Samaritan speaks of the second greatest commandment and I like that one, too.

I see that you favor a nice one as well. It must be the poet in you...

Peace be with you!

I like the parable about Jesus and the prostitutes, in every modern Bible, but just recently proven to be a story edited into the text in the 1200's. Just goes to show good info can go bad in the hands of humans. Little more than 1/6 of what is in it can be traced back more than 900 years, sad considering most of it was written 1700 years ago and before.

Matthew 25:1-13

The parable of the ten virgins five wise and five foolish.
The five wise virgins had enough oil in their vessel for their lamp to shine till the second advent.
The oil being symbolic for the truth of God's Word or Holy Spirit.

Luk 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

The Sower is my favorite it opens the meaning to the other parables.

And he said, "Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death."

Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"

Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you.

When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty."
